“Watch Hill Vineyard” is a favorite at Andrew Murray, both to work with and to enjoy the fruits of that labor. Always a critical darling and a quick seller, the combination of Syrah and co-fermented Viognier yields an impossibly dark garnet wine loaded with ripe cherry, pepper, flowers, charred bacon, tar and, as if all that isn’t enough, an additional hint of toasty oak. The finish is dry, with dusty tannins that linger between sips. |
